My computer is shutting down after I am on it for 15 mintues. the screen says test PC. and I tried moving the mouse and nothing just goes black or it says test PC. I have anti virues software on the computer so I don't think it's a virus. Please anyone that might know what's wrong I would apprieciate it, thanks so much

What do you mean that the screen says test PC? How? When? I need this to put you in the right direction. Need more details.

most likely cause (so long as the ? category is correct):

Your laptop is going into power save mode. In Windows XP, click start> control panel > Power Options
In the Power Schemes options, you probably have the 'running on batteries' set to 15 minutes. Change that or run plugged in and it should not shut down after 15 minutes.
NOTE: Setting the 'running on batteries' options to never will kill your battery and cause you to recharge a lot... rendering the battery useless sooner then it's usual life cycle. That's why the power management is there.

could be an overheat problem or any one of a number of software issues or someone has gone into the power console and set it to turn off

formatting and reinstallation will rid of any software related problems
