I always used to run "on Empty" ,with the same excitement !!!

until one day, gunge, from my petrol tank
fouled up my system ,
It cost me= £134= to put it right,

the garage manager , told me very publicly ,
(After he took all my money.... )
And very loudly ~~~~
"~It was my fault!!!!!:(( And i should never, ever ,
drive on an empty tank again , !!!"

How embarrassing .....

>^,,^<

Since that day ,i have always kept my tank at least half full.

I do that all the time! I'll think, eh, next service station. Then I'll drive along to the next one and think, eh, I can make it a little farther. Good analogy by the way. Gas tank roulette; that's a good one.

I am on empty this week for sure. I too push it sometimes but when I do I pay for it. I will try to refuel the tank in the morning. Everyday brings the new dawn of hope. cheers.
edit, I too thought you were refering to emotional empty. The gas tank? never, always enough.

No, but my husband used to. Real fun walking 4 miles to a gas station in the rain (oh and a nice state trooper whizzed by us too). Happened TWO times (his fault). I never do that, it's too hilly around here.

Plus I knew a girl who was ran out of gas, some guy stopped to 'help her' and tried to abduct her.

No. Running on empty wears the fuel pump out quicker! It is a pump. It needs the fuel to help keep it cool. Plus having the fuel so low gets the filter plugged quicker.

Sounds dangerous. Some day, that chamber will have a bullet in it and you will be stuck on the side of the road. :-(

When that happens, watch out for guys carrying chainsaws and axes! :-P
