I think the best player right now is Ronaldinho. But the gap between him and the second best player has shrunk. It wouldn't surprise me if Didier Drogba won Footballer of the Year for 2007. In fact, I'm expecting it to happen. Especially now that Barcelona looks like they're done in the UEFA Cup. And Chelsea looks like they have a pretty good chance to take it all.

Ronaldinho is probably the best player, and probably on the top five of all times. He has good skills with the ball, great balance, superb finishing, and best of all, charisma.
He does not seem that he is making an effort. He plays soccer not to be the best, but because it is fun, you could see it in his smile. Heck, the guy smiles even when he gets fouled.
Zidane, Eto, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Canavaro are all great players and will be remember as so, but Ronaldinho is something alse.
David Beckham is just show. Yes, he does play good, but his popularity is based mainly on fashion.

Ronaldinho plays Club Football for Barcelona, and is one of the many stars on the Brazilian team. Some would say he is the best vurrent player, but there are reasons to have arguments...
