No, I don't think it's gender based. I've met a lot of men who listen and a lot of quiet women (I'm actually very quiet myself). Maybe you're just meeting the wrong ones?

They look you in the eye, they nod at the right places, they even reply to your statements....but sometimes he says ---I'm thinking about what you said (after I tell him I've said it 5 times in the past six months) ---that's when I know he's listening. He only says this to me, maybe, twice a year.

I think women stop talking, but I'm not sure. I usually tune them out after a few minutes

I don't blame men for not listening to woman.
Most of the time if you listen to another female talking, they don't have anything interesting to say.

sure am I tell my man things like 3 or 4 times then he is surprised when I go to do whatever it was I was telling him thinking it is something he has never heard before.
