Most definatly he will never marry I think when you get to a certain age you go past it as you get used to your independance and become selfish with yourself and time.
I do not think he is gay he once asked Olivia Newton John to marry him but she turned him down also a much published affair with Tennis player and question of Sport host Sue Barker.
He is just comfy in his own skin and does not want anyone elses around him .
My brother the same has girlfriends but as for marriage and living with someone never ever he says he is far to selfish for that.
