heres is a small piece of my work...

life? life is nothing but a shard of mirror. a fragment of something much more intricate, and every one of our actions depend on the one looking at us, though the image may be slurred or at variance. Every one of our actions create an equal and oposite reaction, whether it be good or bad. than of course what may be bad to us may delight another. that answers your first question, now the on the other hand is much more abstruse, the soul is something you and only you have. a soul is unique. one soul could be cataclysmic, while another from the still blood line is amicable. yet they still amour for eachother. i can not claim or fabricate defenitions, but i can philosiphize. people like me i call "watchers". we watch instead of join in. we observe every last posiblility for any situation. we are artist not only the type who paint, but write and act or make music. all of us are watcher in a way.

Well, at present you are a thinker, not a writer. Why do you want to be a novelist? Do you have a story in you? Or do you just want to explain complex philosophical ideas - because that's what you're doing now. Here's an idea (not original - Socrates did it first): Write a dialogue between two people who are both pondering something. Example: Phin: Every day, Leah, you come to the edge of this cliff and think about ending your sad existence. Leah: Life is both too short and too long, Phin. Moments of joy are few; struggles are constant. Phin: Then live for your child, girl. Would that not be meaning enough? ......And so on. You can put your philosophizing into a little story. Now, how about you join the writer's club at your school (start one if there isn't one). Produce a little newspaper for the whole school, and every month (or two weeks) you write a little dialogue between two philosophizing mice. People would look forward to that, and eventually your teachers will recognize your talent (whatever it is) and push you in the right direction. Aim for English major in University. Good luck.

It's not too bad. But, don't rush into things. With age, comes experience. Keep on trying, and when you get older and better, you'll be recognized. But, remember, the best artists do it for the love of the art, not for the glory or the need to be heard. This is a childish trait that is common among all groups, or cliques, as you kids call them. My friend, I am a song writer and people have told me that my songs make tears come to their eyes because of how beautiful they are. I have written stories which have turned people asking for more. But, I play and I write for myself, for the love of the art. Fame is not a real artist's motive. Love is.

I can relate to the "watchers", in a sense. But, a lot of people are like that. The fuel that burns the flickering of your pen is nothing more than emotional growth as you change from boy to man. I know this sounds cruel and like I don't understand, but I do. I was there once. Wait until you've grown up and then the real masterpieces will flow.

See life for what it is, instead of having a closed view of life from within a bubble. Open your view to heights so high that no one can see what you see. See things for what they are, and nothing will ever bother you again. You'll see the beauty of the world and it's cultures while realizing the suffering that occurs. This will allow you to write about and be empathetic to others. Instead of writing your books about life from your perspective, write about life as a worldly perspective. One that shows that beauty through metaphors, and life through the eyes of others. To write a story on a view other than your own shows true talent. Anyone can tell what they feel inside.

Dig deeper, and write about things other than your life. Then, perhaps, you'll be taken more seriously.

my school has a young authors program (which they renamed the boundbook program... assholes) and you write a book and it is published. If your book is like good enough ... you win the competetion and go to state. if you win there you go national.

If your school has one of those id say just wait for results from that, if you win you know your good enough to be a novelist and you might just be discovered.

If it doesnt, suggust it. Right your principal a letter (make that a essay, they love essays) persuading her to put this type of program in affect.

Now if the whole program thing fails, forget all that, you will just have to go to the library and get them published, maybe multiple librarys. Im not 100% sure if you can do that but you can do it at, at least one library.

Ask family members to read your book/books and tell you thier honest opinion. If most of your responces are positive tell them to ask thier friends to look at it, and thier friends, and thier friends, and hopefully with this, you can get noticed. That will be the first step. the second step would be up to fate I guess... until you get older. You can do all this right now though.

A little more detailed description of the program-

Everyone in the school writes a book, ussually has a set number of pages. (EG book must be 15 pages or more.

Afterwards then either write it or type it on special paper and its all sent to the publishing company to be published.

you get it back in a while and the winners from each class are announced and the ultimate winner who will go to state is announced.

you go to state winner is annouced

you go national and if you win... honestly i dont know what will happen but i can only assume, people know the books there must be good and most likly would be noticed.

Excuse any spelling errors

Keep writing, and ask your English teacher (or the English department head) for help.

Many high schools publish a literary magazine. If yours does, submit your work. If it doesn't, why not suggest that they start one, and offer to edit it?

Try to get a position on your school newspaper.

Many magazines accept work from amatuer writers/poets. Perhaps your librarian can help you find some. Be sure to check about their policies on unsolicited work, because you don't want your work to end in the circular file.

Read a lot. All good writers do.

Thee are web sites that will publish your work for free; I won't give you any links because the ones I know are porn sites, and you're too young. There are other sites as well, so use your web searcher.

Within this paragraph (a bit of constructive criticism here), there are some run-on sentences and misspellings, and it's a little bit hard to follow what concept you are trying to present.

However, there is some amazing potential here. It will take a bit of work, but read more to write better, submit some work into contests, and just work your way up as much as possible. Eventually, you will be able to get some things published. It may not necessarily be immediately, but rarely do results come so quickly. It is quite possible to get things published within the next few years.

If you want to write better than you have to read more; To be a great writer, you should study the greatest works. And study philosophy because it will make the study of english literature easier because you will be able to think critically and pick up on the subtle nuances of the themes in the work. Read any books you can about writing (I suggest Writing with Style by John Trembal).

Also, if you are 14, don't worry to much about what you want to be. Instead focus on being as well-rounded of a person you can be. Don't just think of what you want to do, but make sure that what you want to do is worth doing.

Keep writing. Writers need life experience, and if they don't, their books come out sounding like Eragon (terrible book IMHO). Join a club for writers, or form one of your own (That's what my friend and I did). Save your writings, but you have plenty of time to become a writer still. Oh, and keep reading of course!

Your peice is interesting, but it has multiple misspellings and it doesn't flow. Work on it. Do you truly believe every word that you have written? Try using metaphors or examples to really give evidence and interest/entice the reader.

Artistry and creativity have no time limit. Some individuals develop their talents at a very young age. The trick is to recognize it and nourish it. You are fortunate that you have recognized it. Now the only thing that you need to do is hone it. If writing is your creative outlet / talent then, by all means, write! There is no better form in being true to yourself than to accept who you are and not let anyone else dictate to you whether to be or not to be. If you are a writer by virtue, Bravo to you!

Don't worry about your age. Keep on writing, the more you write the
better you will be off. Writing is a calling and if you have it now, that is a blessing, keep up the good work. Don't ever let anyone discourage you. Good Luck.
