It does work for some types of acne, but it doesn't help everyone. If you have cystic acne, it's not going to work. For that, you need the help of a dermatologist, and most likely prescription medicine. If you have mild to moderate acne, it could work for you. Each of the products that come in the basic kit are really nice in their own way, and promote good skin habits (like not just using spot treatments).

If you want, you can try an off-brand kit that they sell in most drugdtores. I can't remember the name, but once when I went on a trip, I used it, and it seemed virtually equivalent. You can see if you like the regime that way. But the only really unique item is the exfoliator (which they call the cleanser). It's much more expensive separately, so they trick you into the kits! ;) There are plenty of other exfoliators, but none are quite like Proactive's (except the knockoff brands. those are similar). The toner is just a glycolic toner, which you could get from other companies (in even stronger levels), and the repairing fluid is just a light moisturizer with benzoil peroxide, which you could buy or create by putting a few drops of Oxy into your own oil-free moisturizer.

It all depends on how well you stick to the routine. It worked for my teen aged daughter, and I even gave it a try. It can be expensive, but if you have really bad acne, anything is worth a shot. (Although you can find some drugstore medicines that aren't as expensive and work just as well. In my day, plain old soap and water worked!!!)

Well, it works for me. But everyone is different. Five of my friends use it and so does my mom. For my mom and one of my friends, Alexa, it does not work at all! But for me and my other friends, it totally works. But, this usually happens (it happened to me also), once you start using Proactiv, it makes all of your pimples come out, so your achne will get a little worse than usual. BUT don't stop using it! Keep using at night or morning and night for about three to five weeks. If it just keeps getting worse or you see no results... then it won't work for you. But i hope it works out for you! If it ends up not working, i would go to a dermintologist and try to get the cream called "differin" or "retinae". OR you could just simply ask him or her what to do. I HOPE ALL GOES WELL!

by the way... i suck at spelling and always have... and i'm too lazy to do spelling check, so please exuse my bad spelling!

it depends on how bad your acne is....most people who say it works olny have a few small pimples...it's really just overpriced bezenol peroxide with some green tea extracts....or so my doctor says. if you just have a few zits it may work for you but if you have stubbor acnes it's a waste of time and money

it probably does, otherwise so many people wouldn't advertise it, and there would be a lot more controversy
