Organized crime doesn't kill innocent people. Usually the gangs involved only kill rival gangsters, business associates who don't pay up, etc. The violence never reaches the public, right?

Murder is murder, no matter whom you kill. They also extort money, launder money, take businesses, and they have been known to kill innocent people.

You are asking why "crime" is illegal?! heres the definition of crime for you: an action or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and that is legally prohibited.
While some people may see "street justice" as a good way to get things done, it goes against everything the US was built on...weather someone violated a traffic law or killed someone, they have the right to a fair trial....I like how you say "usually the gangs only kill rival gangsters". It's ok if some innocent people get in the way now and then huh?

Wrong. Organized crime is known to reach accross borders and kill the innocent. And just because its crooks killing crooks does not mean its any less bad. Organized crime refers to the fact that certain people and/or persons run the crime as a business. Its killers etc are a bit more experience and better at their 'job' then say the average 'delinquent' out there. But the innocent bystander or civilian gets hurt. If you own a nice vehicle that you came by through hard work some criminal would love your vehicle and although insurance covers the theft, the innocent pays through higher insurance rates, etc.

the priority of stating Prohibitions Failure for legalizing all drugs is that it misses one considerable ingredient, in that Booze replace into criminal, and broadly fed on from the time of the early, if not first settlers, all the way with the aid of till the twentieth century and the 18th modification. removing a multigenerational custom is what fueled the backlash and help for bootlegging, and allowed the Mafia to fill the void w/ unlawful liquor. i will see the way it applies to Prostitution, and Pot, as the two have been around and obtainable long earlier they have been criminalized. even nevertheless fashion designer and extra good drugs have been some distance much less straightforward, and particularly unparalleled till presently, so their is not any shopper base who's being disadvantaged of the exhilaration of Drug X, by its illegality. for the softer issues which do carry genuine fee, i've got faith, legalization, administration, and Taxation are the advice on the thank you to regulate their use

Well, actually you're wrong. Having grown up with the mafia around, I saw LOTS of innocent people get killed. One incident, and you can check on this if you want, was where the Mafia kidnapped a little boy in a park and cut off his head. They left the 3 year old little boy's body on a bench in the park, with the head placed beside him, for his father to find. His father had been skimming.
Really, it's illegal because it is violent, corruptive, and is against basic social policy.

By the way, this happened in the early 1980s in Clarksburg, WV. Go check it out.

Wrong pal,,,there have been countless innocent people who were in the firing line and killed by crime members. Did you think they waited for some old lady to get out of the way before they fired across the street???

Wrong! How about a hit on some guy that is supposed to take place in a restaurant and innocents die? Or those who get caught in the cross fire? How about the business person who's hit up for "protection" money and when he doesn't want to get involved, is beaten?

Blame it on the RICO act. Before the RICO act organized crime flourished.

You're wrong about organized crime not affecting the lives of innocent people, I know many of innocent people who were affected by their actions.

Hmm... I guess if you think it's ok to kill someone, this would be perfectly logical to you. I wasn't aware that gang members gave up their rights as "members of the public."

Are you off your nut? Have you heard of innocent people getting hosed in a drive by shooting.

Thats like saying why should meth users get arrested. They don't hurt innocent people. (Except when they break into my house when me and my kids are here to steal the cash from my office to support their habit)
