Every woman has different cycles. Day Counting is almost worthless for preventing pregnancy and often not very good for acheiving it.
A woman is actually only fertile for a few days each month. It's NOT true that you can "get pregnant any time." However, if you don't know your fertility signs, you won't know when you are "safe" and when you are not.
It's very easy to learn, but all the details would be too time consuming to lay out here.
For avoiding pregnancy, the most conservative info can be found on the Couple to Couple League's website CCLI.org . Their book The Art of Natural Family Planning also includes excellent information on using NFP as a natural method of child spacing.
Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). You can only get pregnant approximately 14 days BEFORE your period. If you're on a regular cycle, then just don't have sex, or use protection, for about 11-17 days before your period starts. You can also take your temperature. Take it every morning before getting out of bed and graph it. It will go up about one whole degree when you're ovulating. Good luck!

I think it takes 14 days before you ovulate again but u still need condoms.. I think thats what ur askin
