A part of me wants to say kids shouldn't be on here; however, they probably have more valid questions than the adults do. It's unfortunate that some people feel the need to be vulgar whether it be with their avatars (I've seen some really disgusting ones) or their questions. My guess is people like that just don't care who is on. It would be nice if everyone could be civil, but I'm afraid this place provides an arena for people who don't have the courage to speak their minds in person to do just that.

You're right. I think Yahoo Answers should impose an age limit because there are impressionable young kids on here asking questions that their parents should be answering. For example, a couple of days ago there was a kid asking about sex and how do you have sex and there were all these adults saying very inappropriate things.

That's true. Why should parents be monitoring their kids on a yahoo site like this? It is afterall a place for people to ask serious questions to people of all ages all around the world... for a kid, it should make for a great educational tool. And we've turned it into a R rated (sometimes XXX rated) site. Human nature at its best.

You are possibly right- I for one will try to put that in mind before acting out on my keyboard.
But sometimes you see a question that has played it's self out day in and night.
So one might tend to think- Is the same joker who harasses us nightly? This has been taking place a lot.
And then a lot of these questions have been asked and answered some many a times that they can just go look them up.
As I have when about to ask one.
But you are right and I for one will start by now looking at that you have wisely pointed out.
Thank you

Kids younger than 14 should not be on here; its against the guidelines. Why do teenagers post non-sensible questions? Why aren't their parents monitoring their on line activity in this open forum?

I love the questions from kids, I helped one with plans for her birthday party, she was so cute! She voted me best answer and told me thank you, better behavior than most of the adults here.
I try to keep in mind that there are kids here, and try not to be mean to people who ask simple questions, and I try not to be potty mouthed. I get mad at some of the answerers, and if they have ganged up on someone who has asked a simple answer, I try to give them a nice response.
One I saw was too cute, she aked her question, and put "I'm 10" in [ ].

Y & A has an age limit and they must be 13 years of age and older to ask or answer question. I don't mind if it is someone younger, but that's the rules.
My problem is when we have adults who know better, posting comments and questions that are obscene and vulgar, I’ll report them every time I see one. Thankfully, it has been a while since I have had to.

Kid's internet use should be monitored by their parents. Adults have the right to say some rude or offensive things on this site. It's not an appropriate site for kids.

There should be an age restriction on here, 14 or older.
AND, if the youngens are going to ask questions, I prefer that they state their age for all to know.
People would be less judgemental to a child.
Just my thoughts....
