Religion doesn't need federal financial aid. Christianity for instance is very rich. And religion doesn't pay taxes. Bush's faith based initiative is simply channeling tax payer money to Evangelicals. The government can give to those "charities", if they are actually in need of the money.
So in the end, it's obvious that Christianity reaps the benefits of federal financial aid. Not necessarily those that are in need.

Funny that you don't wonder the same thing about the government bureaucracies reaping the benefits currently.
I think I trust private non-profits a great deal more than the government, when it comes to maximizing the dollar.
I'd say more money would get to the needy.

Dumbass Liberal churches that's who. Conservative Christian churches neither need nor want Federal funds! Their congregations are thriving. Whilst liberals churches are declining because no body in their right mind would go there for salvation! Yes, if you want to get picked up for a homosexual encounter..but for truth...forget it!
