Why won't the windows media player 11 install?

Question

I installed it today after it finished it said that i should restart the computer and i did but when i went to listen to music it said that i had to restart it for it ti actually install so i restarted it again and went to the real administrator and it said the same thing. Plesse help i can't live without my music!!!

go to control panel and click add and remove programs
and check for widows media player 11
if its there click it and press remove
then restart and reinstall
this works for xp i don't know a bout vista yet
