Anyone has any ideas how to shrink enlarged pores on the face? Which makeup works best? Any demertological procedure to shrink them? Please advise.

Origin's has a good charcoal mask. Avon's Microdermabrasion Scrub has been good too.

Some people recommend Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask and Neutrogena's overnight masks.

I also like Murad's AHA/BHA cleansing gel and Aveeno's Daily Radiance Cleansing Pads. The exfoliate well but do not irritate my skin.

Prescription Retin - A helped clear my skin & make my pores seem smaller.

Currently, I am undergoing a series of 4 microdermabrasion facials at a local salon. So far, so good but it is pricey.

I don't know which makeup to recommend because I haven't found my ideal foundation yet.

Here are some homemade remedies:

You can put a thin layer of plain Milk of Magnesia on your face and let it dry for 10 minutes or so. It will absorb the oil and tighten your pores. (I've done this & it works.)

These are remedies I've read about many times, but haven't tried yet.

You can crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask.

Or use one of these variations to make a cleanser or mask:

Mixture: 6 crushed aspirins, mixed with the liquid facial cleanser at hand (I usually use either cetaphil or tersaseptic), and 1-2 drops of tea tree oil.

Mix half a teaspoon of crushed tablets with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask and aloe vera gel.

Held 6 aspirin in my palm, and slowly dripped water onto them until they fizzled and dissolved! Once dissolved, I added 2-3 drops of honey into it and mixed it around with my finger. Applied to my face. Keep it on 15-20mins.

Mix 6 aspirin tablets with a little aloe to make a mask.

Use about 6 uncoated tablets, witch hazel, tee trea oil, and aloe to make a thin paste.

For toner:
8 ounce bottle of distilled water add four uncoated aspirin
or
mix of 1/2 water, 1/2 witch hazel, 15 aspirin, and 2 drops of tea tree essential oil and 2 drops of rosemary essential oil

Enlarged pores are hard to fix. The best thing to do is not wear liquid or solid makeup. Mineral makeup is a much healthier alternative and still give the same coverage as solid or liquid while at the same time is weightless and doesn't melt.

Diet and skin care help also. A daily and nightly regimen help maintain pore size, while toners help maintain oil production. Smoking will severely alter the shape of your pores and condition of your skin, so don't light up.

As for facial treatments, Laser resurfacing and chemical peels can help but those are very dramatic and can be expensive.

The awful truth is that you can't really shrink your pores back to what they may have been.

This is the #1 honey facial mask recipe!!! It works amazingly well :)

Raw honey works wonders because not only is it natural, but it has anti-bacterial properties that works just as good and probably better than any lab-made cream in the market. I Highly recommend honey facial masks.

The one and only foundation that has worked for me is " Line deffiance make up - SPF 8" by ARBONNE. Itcosts me 34.75. I have tried the mineral powder but found it heavier without a lot of coverage. THis stuff goes on like silk, I use maybe a pea sized amount for my whole face and my pores look fantastic. ( By that I mean- they somehow disappear.) The product is certified vegan and does NOT contain mineral oils......
Anyhow this where I buy it from ( and they give you a 45 day money back quarantee)

I do however use their entire skin care system as well, not sure if that would make a difference or not in how the make up would perform, but I am sure if you use a quality skin care line it would not matter.

Three key elements to help your skin look its best:

·Avoid the damaging sun: with 90% of aging caused by environmental damage and sun exposure, ensure that you wear a product that contains a broad spectrum sun block , and use it every day. Harmful sun rays penetrate clouds…so sun block is needed on cloudy days as well. Arbonne uses the latest in sunscreen technology in their day creams to ensure that you are protected from both the UVB and UVA rays.
·Practice good skin care: Using skin care products incorrectly can cause problems later in life. Learn how to remove make-up, and apply sun screen to let skin breath. Follow up with exfoliation to encourage skin cell turnover, and finish with a light moisturizer to protect the skin’s water barrier.
·Don’t mix brands: With hundreds of skin care products launched each year, it’s no wonder that many of us try the latest products…however that can lead to skin irritation and the development of sensitive skin. Skin care products need time to work, and as your body becomes accustomed to the formulas …you will see benefit. Each brand develops products to work together for best results. Pick a brand and stick with it.

make sure you tone and moisturize EVERY time you cleanse your face. toners balance the pH of the skin and help to shrink pores. any spa can do a facial treatment called galvinic current which can be used to shrink pores

Clinique has a pore minimizer that you use twice a week - works great! They also have a pre minimizer that you put on under your makeup that will even out skin tone.
