all life is an illusion.
who is to say what "appears" or "disappears".
as to atheism - a belief or a disbelief is just that, and no more or less.

Suppose you were looking at a glass and were not sure that if you closed your eyes it would be gone. But instead of closing your eyes, you place a towel over it. The towel ofcourse takes the shape of the glass. You can't see the glass, but is the glass still there? The answer seems to be yes.

Why would an atheist think that everything disappears when the eyes are closed? I don't think that happens.

Theoretically speaking: You never know. It could, we could test something a million times, but you never know what will happen the next time. It could still be there or it just might disappear

Shouldn't you first determine what "you" are, before you ask what happens if you close your eyes?

suppose there were two of you looking at 'the thing' if you close your eyes it will be gone from your vision, however the second person can still see it, therefore, its still there, so just cause youve closed your eyes its obstructed from view by your eyelids but still there
