prop4u has accurate info. Staff nurses (RNs) at a hospital can make six figures if they want to here in California. A typical new grad salary here is about $65k without differentials for 3 12 hr shifts a week. Some of my coworkers work full time and per diem or part time somewhere else. Or if you do travel nursing the free benefits and housing allowances can make the salary worth much more. But for sure the Nurse Administrators, Nurse Practitioners (NP), Nurse Midwives (CNM) and Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) can easily make six figures.
And yes, nursing is a dirty job. And hard, hard work. Although the higher up the food chain you are and the longer you are on the job the less dirty it gets.

A cna could never earn a six figure salary, and a LPN would not either. A rn could possibly if they worked full time at 2 hospitals or a lot of overtime at one. By law nurses cannot work over 80 hours a week (who would want to even work that much) and a lot of facilities would want to keep you under 40 due to over time then again some don't pay overtime. Now advanced practice nurses could easily make six figure salaries. Keep in mind the longer you work somewhere and the more education you obtain the more pay you could make. Now is nursing dirty... If you mean messy as in you get messy No there is a lot of ppe we wear in certain situations. Plus, we wash our hands in every room. Now if your asking if it is "gross" you could say that. Nursing takes a strong stomach in some instances but you get used to and its not "dirty". I will say before you go into nursing consider if healthcare is for you... If your worked about money go into banking.

Nurses do very well... a registered nurse in California, in a 200 bed facility makes an average of 79,400 after 5 years on the job... And most work 3- 12 hour shifts... so that's basically working 3 days a week for a 36 hour work week... There are specialty Nursing occupations... for example... an anesthesiologist nurse can make upwards of $120,000 a year

Yes a nurse can make 6 figures. I've talked to traveling nurses that make over $80k plus paid housing in CA. There are also other homecare nurses that can make make 6 figures. Usually by contracting themselves out.
The reason travel nurses can make so much money is because hospitals use them as temps and they are willing to pay more money to fill there immediate needs. Usually, in these conditions CNAs are spread out over multiple patients, same as the nurse, and therefore the nurse ends up having to do a lot of the same dirty work as the CNA.

Typically a Nurse's Earnings Vary from state to state Ect..
However if you work in NY a nurse will earn 65, 000 or More
for 3 day and 12 hour shifts, Now double the days working the same hours - theres your 6 figures. But this is gernerally done moonlighting at diffrent hospitals. or privately
Now most nurses work in specific areas ect.. so depending on what your working, orthopaedics, pediatrics, VS geriatrics, and gasterenterology. do the math
every job has its ups and Downs,
If it were FUN well they wouldn't call it a Job now would they
hope this helps

Depends on the area of nursing. For example, a nurse anesthetist could easily make six figures. However, that obviously requires a MSN. As for a dirty job, it really depends on your area of nursing as well.

It is possible, but not likely. I am sure the nurse who is the head of nursing at the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkin's might, otherwise no way. Nursing isn't a dirty job, overall. CNA's do most of the really dirty stuff like rear wiping and stuff. LPN's hand out the meds. And our RN's give the shots. However, this is in a psychiatric setting.
