Well, I started smoking when I was 12 years old. I am now 45 and still smoking.
Back when I was a child, there were no age limits on buying cigarettes, so the access was very easy. My mom used to send me to the store around the age of 8 to buy cigarettes for her.
They started having an age limit of 16 when I was around the age of 14, but it wasn't enforced. I never had a problem buying. I remember when grocery stores, movie theaters and even doctors offices allowed smoking. There wasn't a place you couldn't smoke. When I was in labor with my daughter, the hospital had "smoking or non smoking rooms". That was 20 years ago.
