Pro=you are not limited by a cord lenghth. You can use them sitting on your recliner from several feet away from your desk if you want.
They take up the same number of USB 2.0 ports so you are not freeing up USB space by having them, though.

Having a wireless keyboard & mouse:
Pros: No wires, able to reach from a long distance
Cons: Batteries may die, and if your computer doesn't have bluetooth installed, but you need a USB adapter, having a wireless keyboard and mouse will not be pleasant, because it will disable after a few minutes, whether you're using the mouse or not.

Pros: No cable, you can operate you PC from longer distance.
Cons: Not sensitive enough for gaming (the transition of signal is slower for wireless mouse)

pros are less wires and less mess ... cons can be the batterys go dead and u dont have replacement onhand ... or if u get too far away from the reciever there can be lag also in key response ...
