I my opinion NO but in most peoples mind yes but to hell with them. Do what you want and don't let them define what kind of person you are they have no right to. Be different it makes you stand out in a world of clones.

Only if it LOOKS like a purse. I've seen a lot of really classy attache-like "man-bags", and I think they look great. But anything smaller than a legal pad looks kinda strange, especially given that men are typically larger in proportion to a purse than women are. If the bag looks too small, then the guy just looks kinda odd. I wouldn't say "gay", just odd. I haven't met a single gay guy who carries a "purse", but I know quite a few business men who have leather shoulder-strapped attache cases or messenger bags. Briefcases and hand-carried cases are for stiffs. Put that sucker on a shoulder strap, and free up your hands!

Of course, you goofy goober! Why would men need to carry anything other than a wallet and a cellphone? Those can easily fit in their baggy pockets. But handsbags were made for women only. We have things such as a wallet, cell phone, makeup, woman products, etc. that we have to have with us at all times. If you see a guy walking down the road with a Chanel (or any other purse for that matter) it just makes you wonder. However, if the bag is a drawstring-type bag (like Nike or Adidas), then it's all good! <3

YES!!! men carry around wallets or a brief case haha but never a handbag

how large is the handbag? i wouldn't say it would make you look gay, but many people may have that thought in your mind if they don't know who you are...
what you might want to invest in is a really nice messenger bag thats made of leather. make sure that its the size where you can probably fit a smaller laptop (like a macbook) but isn't a laptop bag. canvas is more casual, but never go and buy nylon messenger bags...

I really do not like them. I think they are kind of metrosexual. A guy should carry a briefcase, a messanger bag or a back pack.
