I've been cutting myself for a long time trying to get the pain that I'm holding inside out, but I've run out of places to cut without someone finding out and without re-opening the ones that have scabed over. I don't want to stop but I'm afraid that if I don't that one time I will cut so deep that I won't be able to stop the bleeding. Then everyone will know and I will be locked up. I don't want that to happen again. But I can't stop myself! I love the feel of the knife cutting through my flesh to free the pain that resides right below the surface. If there is another way to let it out please someone tell me, because I have yet to find a way. The phyco people don't help whatsoever. All they do is drug you until you can't think or they try to bring a therepist in, and you have to explain all your problems to them. HA! DOESN'T WORK! TRIED!

Writing helps. A diary, poems...anything that could express your feelings. That way you can let it out in a constructive manner.

Well if you want to stop cutting your self find someone you really trust and tell them how you feel, or start a diary and write down how you feel, and think about what is causing the pain from deep inside of your self and ask yourself why you feel this way but if you want to talk about it you can talk to me if you want

I feel for you. You are a very deep person who is really hurting but hurting yourself is not going to stop your pain. You need to understand what it the cause of your pain and deal with it. It sounds as if you have not had luck with the counsellors and therapists you are dealing with but don't give up! There are really good caring people out there who can help you ,you only need to find them. Keep looking for help and deal with your issues. Cutting is a serious problem and you need help. Good Luck and don't give up

Im on meds for depression, ive had problems too. I would start writing a journal about all the things you dislike and all the things you like, for example maybe you like to listen to heavy metal. You could also play the drums or a musical instrument, i like playing the drums because it lets me get rid of negative energy by beating the crap out of the drums. I also to listen to heavy music. A lot of people go through the same thing your going through.

You should go seek some help from Doctor Phil. This is not good, of course if they had this going on when I was a teen, I would have done it too. But this is bad, you could get an infection and could end up worse than you feel. Everyone has pain, lots of pain. You just have to try to talk about it, and think about all the good things you have done. I understand the psycho people don't help, they never helped me either. I don't feel that there are good psyhs out there, dr. Phil may be able to help. GOOD LUCK!.

The only negative behavior that I can personally relate to this behavior is smoking. To successfully break the addiction you must despise the damaging habit. By the sound of it you like it. Concentrate on what you hate about the habit and perhaps you may not like it anymore.

P.S. the method above worked for me to curb suicidal thoughts from the inside.

i was a cutter.

i find that if you find something you like to do, replace cutting with it. for me its writing, painting, dancing, drawing, running. i have something posistive that i am proud of instead of cuts on my arms that i am ashamed of.

ive found that if i REALLY needed to feel pain, i would squeeze an icecube as hard as i could. i always found that if i need to see cuts and blood, if i drew on myself with red marker, or smeared fake blood on me, it helped.

it sounds like you dont really give therapy a chance. btw. you shouldnt just be getting medicated, you should be getting talk therapy and cognitive therapy to change these behaviors as well.

prehaps trying to find a hobby that'll help your pain? write, run, sew, get piercings, tattoos, or scarifications. They still cut but now with a reason :D

Have you tried DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy)?

Simple get a cat from you local shelter. One that is kind of wild, so you will have to tame it. You will get scratched enough that you will forget about cutting. Plus you will have the cat scratches forever, and when you look at them you will be reminded of your cat. Which should make you proud that you accomplished taming your cat. Good Luck.
