That doesn't make me very HAPPY!

The apostrophe is a delimiter in the database, so if they stored the apostrophe, the software would think that it was the end of the text and only half of your question would get posted. So they strip out this and other special characters to prevent the data from getting corrupted.

What they should do is insert the apostrophe preceeded by an escape character (probably a slash) when the data is stored in the database.

It bothers me too, but I think it has something to do with syntax and html commands.
