I am impressed. Unfortunatelly, I can't help because I am far away in Asia.
Anyway, have you tried in local papers to put adverts in the classified section? Alternatively, why not drafting a standard letter offering your services and post it to a number of potential businesses and hope for the best?

Get some advertising out there in your locality. You could build yourself a great business in your chosen field. Pets and gardens are great - people need to have them looked after.

How about approaching local letting agents. They often need to get jobs done for absent landlords. Gardening in particular would be on their list also odd jobs and simple maintenance.
