They are not messy, but they take extra care. You have to clean them and use eye drops, and discard them and get new ones. It is a little more difficult, but they are not as expensive to pay for. I get mine for $75 and they last me 6 months. My glasses cost me about $800 dollars. That's alot more to spend in one shot every couple years. Go for it. I hate wearing my glasses they bother the heck out of me, and I find that contacts are definitely are worth it.

It depends on your budget. They are more expensive than glasses, but the benifits are good. Most people see better out of contacts and they feel more natural. Contact lenses range from $20-79 dollars per box for disposables. You will also have to get an eye exam to get them which will run about 130-150 dollars and this perscription is good for one year in most cases. They are not messy anymore. They have simple no rub solutions that you put them in at night and then put them back in the next day. Years ago you had to rub them and rinse them and they were messy. Most optometrists will give you a trial pair following your exam, to let you try them before buying a box which is a three month supply. If they don't work for you, then your not out money and you can get glasses.

Contact lenses, in comparison to glasses, are much cheaper. Glasses cost about $300 to $500 a pair, while my contact lenses (disposable every month) are only about $120 for a whole year! I think that you can buy them online for even cheaper.
Yes, it is true that contact lenses require more care than regular glasses. You MUST remember to take them out every night, or else you'll wake up with REALLY dry eyes (trust me, I know from experience). Other than that, just remember to rinse them with the solution daily, and you're fine.
Sometimes, I just drop them into the container with solution when I'm really lazy; and my lenses are fine. But, since you're a beginner, I wouldn't recommend it.

They used to be messy and expensive, but the new cleaning solutions are much better. You only need one bottle of solution to clean, disinfect and store them (it used to be a multi-step process). They aren't that expensive either. I like the disposables. I wear each pair for about a month, then throw them away (I don't have the kind you can sleep in) Good luck.

i wear contacts.
they take about a week to get use to but aren't really messy..you just need to take care of them with the solution and always have a spare pair because they may rip...but that doesn't happen very often.
i recommend contacts. they're easy and comfortable.
