I believe that everything happens for a reason, sometimes for better sometimes for worse but each time we meant to learn something from it. What do you think?

No. Too robotic.

I'd throw in free will to choose our destination, but the "glitches" along the way are lessons that we need to learn.

I think it's pretty sad that a lot of people think that their destinies are pre-determined. Every second of every day we have choices. These profoundly affect our own futures. We affect other people as well as ourselves with our choices. We can change whatever road we're on at any time. Thinking that destiny is already writen for us gives us excuses for the shortcomings we might chose to take. Blamers love this philosophy. "It's not my fault". "I have no control over my life". "My situation is a result of whatever". It's been said that "in nature there are no rewards or punishments, only consequences".

Everything we do can detrmine our future. For instance, some people who choose to continue their education, along with their academic achievements in both grade school and high school could wind up being teachers or professors. Also, those that have been repeated felons could wind up becoming police officers, just because they know the system inside out. So yes, our actions are part of what the future brings for ecah individual.

Quantum mechanics should make destiny impossible. Althought it doesn't say anything about free will, it does tell us that future events are indeterminate. You cannot know with certainty the outcome of any event that hasn't yet happened, so I would say no, there is no plan in life.

Definitely everything happens for a reason and all events have many causes and are interrelated. But there is no such thing as destiny. I think destiny is just an excuse people give for not taking responsibility for their lives.

...I agree with you...I believe everything happens for a reason and alot of times we are fourunate enough to look back and learn exactley what the reason was...it seems as though we are constantly on a course... of course things dont just fall in our laps,we do make choices, but why that choice?..and that old saying, shi* happens...it does but theres always a reason and we are always headed for our destiny...God has a plan for all of us who believe he exist....its up to us to learn as swe go along and seek,as to what that is...I agree with you,I am learning every day...bad & good

Yes. I think I wrote the play of my life before I was born. I engaged all the actors and gave them their scripts. I knew what I wanted to achieve and set out the process to accomplish that. In writing the play I felt confident that I could deal with the hardships that I wrote in. After all, when I was writing it, I knew it is only a play - albeit with just one great performance (of this script anyway).
I think we are obsessed with movies and television because we are trying to show ourselves that it is a reflection of our lives. Our scripts are taking us somewhere. We have just forgetten we are acting and there is a theme to it all.

I don't necessarily believe in "destiny," or that our lives are planned out. Rather, I believe we have choices, and the choices we make create our destiny.

I believe that some parts of our life are planned out,but others are all due to choices we have made in our lives.

I believe that I make my own destiny and what happens happens for the reasons that I need it to happen.
