Neither Mexico or the USA will ever win the world cup. Dont mean to be rude, but its just never going to happen.

I'd have to say how the teams are going now: U.S.A. Simply due to the fact that they continue to try and improve with the MLS rather than simply rely on a new coach or new strategy. The U.S., I think, will at least reach the World Cup before Mexico does.

Yes, the U.S. national team has been improving a lot, but I do not think they are at the Mexican level. It is true that lately the U.S. has beaten Mexico, but have you watch the games? Most of the games the Mexicans are dominating the Americans, but the lack of goals is what is hurting the Mexicans.
Mexico lacks a good goal striker. The striker now is Jared Borgeti, but he is no longer in his best years. He is old now and lacks the fisical abilities to go toe to toe with younger defenders. In the Club were he plays now, Cruz Azul, he is not doing a good job. He does not scores goals, as the matter of facts, every time Miguel Saba comes in replaicing him, he scores. Borgeti is way overdue on the national team.
Hugo Sanchez resently call Palencia for the National team. He was (in the past) a great player. Specially in his golden era with Cruz Azul. He used to have presence in the field, but now he is to old. He is still in shape to keep playing on a club level, but for the National team their are better options.
The other goal striker is Chivas de Guadalajara's foward, Omar Bravo. Bravo has played exelent on the club level, but with the national team he has desapointed more than one. He lacks presence, the other teams are not intimidated by him. He could be a great player, but he needs to believe more in himself. I think that know with Hugo Sanchez, his game will improve.
Kikin Fonseca is a total desapointment on the National team and now even in his club, Tigres. He does not score in Tigres, nor with the Mexican Team. He made a great campaing when he played with Cruz Azul a couple of seasons ago, but I do not thing he is amoung the top 20 soccer players to be on the national team, nevertheless on the top 11 starters.
The other fowards are not goal strikers, but play makers. They are good but do not have as many shots to the goal because they play a position a little behind. Cuatemoc Blanco and Adolfo Bautista are probably the two fowards with more creativity and put passes that are half goals, but sometimes the became lost by the lack of goals by their fellow fowards.
Probably the best hope for the Mexican fowards is young Andres Guardado from club Atlas. He has everything, presence in the field, youth, confidence, power, creativity, etc., He, along with Omar Bravo and Alberto Medina are probably the only fowards that I mentioned above that will be on the 2010 World Cup. Cuatemoc could also be if he continues to be in good shape.
A likely foward that I think that will be on the National Team for South Africa 2010 will be Carlos Vela, from Arsenal playing for a second division soccer team.
A big question mark is Nery Castillo (will he play with Mexico?). Personally I do not like his attitude and I believe that if he plays with Mexico he will bring goals to the team.
On the other hand, the U.S. lacks midfielders. Claudio Reyna is probably the finest with the ball on that sector, but he is also seeing his last games on the national team because of age. They have good fowards, specially Donovan, but I do not think he has enough to carry the whole American offense.
They will both be chapions sometime, I have no dought, but I think the Mexicans have the lead.

It could be the USA. The USA has some really remarkable, potentially great young players---Tim Howard, Freddy Adu, Eddie Johnson, O. Onyewu, D. Beasley, etc.---but I don't know that Bob Bradley is the coach who can take them to the next level. I was so hoping that Germany's Klinsman would sign as the USA coach. Bradley seems like a great guy, intelligent, motivated, hard working.....but I don't see him as being world class. If the coaching question gets resolved, it will be the USA.

Mexico will win the World cup first because people in the US keep getting fatter and fatter and soccer requires running. And because most of the people in the US dont know what soccer is.

I think it will be the U.S. mainly because we have so many young great stars. They just need to move past the MLS to become even better so they are ready for the World Cup. Here are some names:
Clint Dempsey(The U.S. savior in the World Cup by scoring against Ghana: now playing in England)
Josmer Altidore(a name you might not recognize but is very young and scored key goals in limited playing time)
Brian Ching(he never played for the U.S. in the world cup mainly because of landon donovon but is a rising star in the MLS)
Oguchi Onyewu(a defender that played well in the world cup last year and should keep improving with time, he is very physical and strong)
Freddy Adu(remember he is only 16! He is improving and is finally going to England for some real challenges.
those players could help the U.S. in the upcoming Cup, but they might have to wait for another one to really become contenders.

you'll never see Mexico or USA winning a world cup . I f the make it every year is because after Oceania the qualification tournament is the one with the worst teams I think if they would qualify with other American teams as Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, etc... they would never make it to the world cup

mexico without question. The MLS is a joke compared to top tier leagues in Europe, and success on the international level almost always stems from strong domestic leagues.
