It should be a book long enough to be able to read at most in 3-4 days. deep characters, and a nice message.

I would suggest Animal Farm. It is a pretty short book, but there is a lot of interpretation beyond the story which I think would be great to include in your book report.
Or you could read To Kill a Mockingbird. It is an easy read but a very important book for anyone to read.
You could also read The Time Machine. I reread it last summer and really enjoyed it. I think it would be an easy read because I first read it when I was eight (although my head hurt a little after wards).

Read "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes. It's a fascinating book. The protagonist, Charlie, is mentally challenged, and therefore very slow. Through a medical experiment, he's turned into an incredibly intelligent person - but when the experiment ends, he slowly loses it all again.

The whole story is told from his perspective, in the form of a diary, so you can see the changes in him not only through what's happening, but also by the way he tells it. At first, he can barely spell, and later he writes very good prose.

I love this book because the author really captures the character's perspective incredibly well. And the book has both depth of characters (especially the protagonist) and a strong (though not necessarily "nice") message. It's a very thought-provoking book.

Here's a link to the book on amazon so you can check out the reviews:

Enjoy! :)

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card or Starship Troopers by Robert A Heinlein. Both quick reads and very engaging.

Try 'A Wrinkle in Time' it's a quick read but very good. If you are a real quick reader and enjoy books requiring heavy thinking '1983' and 'Animal Farm' are really good also. If you don't relate to these books ask your school librarian. She/He should be able to help you choose a book for your level and to match your interests.

I just did a report on the book, The lovely Bones by ALice Sebold, a compelling novel about a 14 yr old girl who was raped and murdered and tells her story as she watches over her family and friends as their lives change and fall apart. NO its not a chick book, (just cause its a female narrator) Its very disturbing with gruesome details. Relatable , real fiction.

Unless your sensitive to anorexic trigger words, I'd suggest "More Than You Can Chew" or anything by Lurlene McDaniel. If the size of the book doesn't matter but your looking for somthing thematic and deep with good characters, they "Animal Farm"

Of Mice and Men would be a quick, interesting read, with more than enough content for you to write a report.
