Just because you don't see him eating it doesn't mean he isn't. Since he is a small hamster, within three to four days you would notice a decrease in weight. If you would like to keep your hammie on the same food you have he should be fine. There are some different foods out there that may be of help. IF you got your hammie from a pet store, the difference in what brand of food they used could be your answer. Most pet stores buy in bulk for cost effectiveness. The most common brands of food they use is Kaytee or Sunseed. Both of these foods are exceptional in variety. Sunseed offers different tastes and seeds. You may want to ask whomever you got your hammie from to see what they were feeding your hammie. If he continues to not eat he needs to go to a vet. Before you do so though, check the corners of the cage. See if he is storing his fod in a place other than hwere his bowl is. These little critters are notorious hiders, so expect as much from yours. Hope some of this helps and good luck.

My hamster eats a type of brand called GOURMET by Hagen. It has dried banana's, peas, seeds, pellets, and some other stuff. My hamster is really into it. She picks out the stuff she likes best out of it though, like corn, sunflower seeds, the banana's, and the peas. It's a pretty good diet too. She's not fat though. I sometimes drop in a little strawberry or raisin or something. She loves it! There are many brands out there that will say anything just to get you to buy their product. I suggest the GOURMET by Hagen, it seems to be the best!

Cheers! xo

We do small animal rescues and we only use Wild Harvest brand foods for all the small animals and our own small pets. We have tried Hartz and several off brands but this is the only one they will eat. We have used Kaytee brand, they ate it but we could tell they weren't happy about it. We got bit a lot until we went back to the Wild Harvest.

Try fiesta, it's really good. Not that I've tried it lol, but my hammie loves it. If you do decide to change the food you should gradually mix the new type of food with the old, so it doesn't shock his stomach. Just like you would do with a dog. Good luck, Hope this helps!!!

I know this sounds weird but try mixing it with peanutbutter. This will cause a toy and make it more interesting for him to eat. If you do change his food, change it gradually. You could also try mixing in little pieces of apple, boiled egg, or lettuce. Also if he is being feed pellets try switching to a seed. My hamster Scrat loves seeds, but won't touch the pellet stuff even though that is what they had him on in the pet store.
