The only thing that I can tell you about the future is that you are going to die! I am also going to die. Everyone will eventually die. That's a given.

Causality also known as cause and effect. Intelligent people seek to understand the causal relations between one event and it's resultant causal effect. By mastering the art of causality one becomes much better at predicting the future. If you understand all the critical path cause and effect relations you can predict the future to a high degree of accuracy. The one item that reduces this prediction method is the butterfly effect. So absolute causality is thus reduced to a high probability.

There will be only one future. So the question is...
Do you understand enough causal releationships to predict it?

Also, once you become intelligent enough you will also see the failicy of the belief in Freedom of Will.

There are different ways to know the future. One is when you plan carefully such as saving money or getting an education and even then you can never be sure. Then there are the people who have physic ability that is they are able to see the future either in dreams, or by reading cards or reading people's minds.

The best philosophy is to deal with things as they come and learn to expect the unexpected.

Make a decision tree. Start with one action, guess the result, keep branching out with another guess and then a result of that guess.....estimate the end of those actions. Start with another assumption and map out some more possibilities.

Stay at job A: same pay, same work, same friends, good commute, small pay increases, tiny office, great medical benefits, good looking single men, possible promotion, good products.

Go to job B: more money, strange new work, new computer system, unknown benefits, private company, unknown product,
longer commute, ground floor opportunity, more responsibility, good experience........

etc,etc.

The future is the result of choices and the consequences of those decisions.

Sometimes taking no action has its own set of consequences.

Be brave and move forward! Take a chance! Shape your future!

Knowing the future is directly related to understanding the probable results of a sequence of events.

If you ask 100 people to guess what will happen tomorrow, some will be right, some wrong, some partly right etc. It doesn't prove anyone has psychic abilities, just that, on average, some people may guess right. The more vague and general your answer, the
larger your chances of being at least partly right.

Psst... you! Yes, you--the one who asked the question! I can tell you what'll happen in the future, just by looking into my genuine, authentic crystal ball. I can't read your palm, for obvious reasons, but that's alright. I'm serious! Please send me $19.95 and you will soon learn what will happen in the future. What a deal, yeah?
