yes, I know what you mean. sometimes pain is like sound, from a certain point (when it gets too high) you can't feel it anymore...

Yes, the day my Mother died.I can't even begin to find the right words to explain that pain. I had never before felt that pain nor after. Maybe I can't describe the pain because I was numb...it is the most terrible pain...

When you lose a child as I did , the hurt and the pain are numbed only by shock.

Oh yeah. It's a form of shock. Then numbing feeling goes away, and the pain really kicks in.

Yes, the day my wife passed, then a week after. I couldn't move.
My son's best friend died Monday of last week. He was only 23. Two days after the funeral, my son said his whole body just went numb.

from the age of 18 til i was 24 , my love died when was 18, numbed me right up, but remember, time passes faster when you're numb... but also helps you to heal....

yes. you know in films and cartoons and stuff and when a character is shocked they pinch their self to see if they are dreaming, i did that once because i could not believe what was actually happening, and then for weeks afterwards i just kinda walked around in a daze.
