Does anyone know The Neutral Milk Hotel?

It's an indie band that I'm not sure if many people are aware of. Most of the people who actually know this band are hippies who can't work a computer :P.

My mom has a few records of theirs, and I was just thinking what a shame it is that such a good band should just go to waste like that.

I love Neutral Milk Hotel! "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" is one of my favorite albums. Though, with the exception of the song "Naomi" it's all I've heard from them.

It's such a shame they haven't done anything in almost 10 years.

EDIT: I know, Mangum must have had so much more to say. Well, don't give up hope yet! This year The Police, Van Halen, and Rage Against the Machine have reunited, so anything's possible.

I absolutely love Neutral Milk Hotel. I have two albums of theirs (In The Aeroplane Over The Sea and On Avery Island)

ITAOTS is very mainstream, but it's still unique and amazing. I think you should keep your mind open to On Avery Island since it is very different, but the more you listen to it, the more you'll fall in love. Everything Is is another release from them, and although I do not own a physical copy of it, I love it so much. I recommend you check out their compilation album and demo releases (like "Beauty")

I'm with Stereotomy on this one. "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" is an absolutely fantastic album that more people really do need to listen to, but that's all that I really know. All of the Indie Kids love to name-drop Neutral Milk Hotel, that album in particular, so I checked it out and loved it. Folky, Indie Rock with really neat lyricism - there's so much to love.
