Those who attempt to profit in the first few weeks normally are not too successful. Sure, some are but for the most part most are not.

Those who show the best results are those who buy stocks in sound companies and hold on to them for long periods of time, 10 to 20 years. They let the companies make them money not the market.

Assuming a sound company can growth their earnings by 10% a year, in 20 years they will have grown them by about 7x and the stock will have appreciated accordingly. And there will be not tax liability so long as the stock is not sold.

if you are smart enough you can profit in the first day. However it will take a few weeks (some cases longer) to see real results.

Just remember the old saying,"Buy on the cannons, sell on the trumpets." Seems like everybody wants to buy when the markets are high and sell when they are low. You will make more money if you try to buy when the market is low then sell when it is high.
