I was told in the store today to go buy a Sprint Phone, and then activate it by calling the 1-800 number. Can I buy a phone off of say, eBay, wirefly, or motorola and have it work, or is Sprint crappy like that, and going to overcharge me for a phone? We are not willing to go through Sprint other than to activate, because we do NOT want to do another two-year agreement. Stinking Sprint. HELP!

ur going to have to go with sprint b-cuz sprint doesnt use sim cards it scans the little internal chip behind the battery, so the only way u can activate it is that u go to a store so they can switch the phones. unless u have a friend who has a wireless store that can do that for u then i guess ur have no way out.

u see if u had cingular or T-mobile u can just buy an unlocked phone and switch the sim cards and that is it, the carrier doesnt even find out.
