Emo is a style/ genre of music that compliments suffering and death.

Well, many people confuse emo and gothic. Gothic is a state of mind in which you are unusually detached from others you know, are probably morbid, appreciate your uniqueness, and usually are very interested in forms of art. Usually morbid thoughts on life and the corruption of our species are mused on. You may feel sincerely suicidal due to your thoughts and hopelessness of things, or cut yourself for the pleasure and/or removal of the thought process to something more real.
Emo, on the other hand, is a subdivision of goth where you try to project your problems onto others. You act depressed and suicidal and cut just to get the attention of others or fit in with the rest of the crowd.
Also, emo and gothic are both styles of art and music. "Emo" music can also be music in which the lyrics suggests a longing for pity and attention from others.
Bob? Um...yeah, you need to be a bit more specific.

Emo is a retard that wears all black and cuts himself and bob is the retard emo, if you dont mean emo in music sense it is a big bird.

Emo is like a totally goth person who wears black and all that stuff and listens to depressing music and is always sad and cuts themselves because of their depression or just for the hell of it.
