it will but there is a plug in the head you have to pull out to let coolant flow to a certian area if you dont it will overheat. i work at advance auto parts and looked them both up and the engines have the same part #. and a friend of mine also did that swap. if you pull that frezze plug out of the head it will work awsome

It ought to fit.
I blew a head gasket on my 95 S10 and it warped the head. A co-worker gave me a head that had come off of a sunfire. It bolted right on and has been working fine for about 6 years. They were both 2.2 liter engines.
Good luck with your project.

I own a shop, and have seen this one before. The answer is NO it will not work. One engine is for a front wheel drive car, and it won't work in a rear wheel drive truck. Don't waste your time on it, because it just won't happen.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

I agree with the other guys NO it wont work. IF you want to know for sure, See what side the starter is on and how it fastens to the engine GM normaly reversed the bell housing from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive (starter on opposite sides).

Don't think so because one is rear drive and the other is front drive.
