I think the longest Surveyed is Mammoth. Caves have to be surveyed to determine length for the books. In real life cave survey doesn't pay $. Its the mud in your blood that keeps cave surveyors going. Now how Meany people do you know that is willing to go underground for 12hrs. a day because they like to? The larger caves need support teams to carry equipment in and out for say a 2 - week trip.
I am hoping the biggest cave is Carroll cave in MO. It has over 12 miles and going. I know this doesn't even come close to mammoth but Its still going . Maybe in 20 years it will be the biggest.
Has the biggest been discovered? Nobody knows
Nice question glad your interested

Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, or Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. Carlsbad Caverns just keeps on getting larger and larger the more they explore into it. Although I have to agree with Warren, he does have a point.
