My husband recently began thinking about getting circumcised. Oddly enough i've never been with a circumcised man and didn't really know how to respond when he told me he was thinking about having it done? Is it really any different at all? Will lovemaking feel different? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Well any answers/advice would help really.

It shouldn't feel any different. It's just the forskin is removed. This has been debated for a long time, but the medical communities tend to believe that it cuts down on your husband's chances of developing cancer in that region of his body. The only thing different would be the look of your husband's member. That's all . It shouldn't inhibit any of yours or his enjoyment in the lovemaking department.

Hello - Well I was circumcised at birth so I can't give you a "before / after" type answer. However, I've received mostly positive reactions from my girlfriends over the years, and now my wife. Mostly positive.

Specifically, my wife is Japanese, and Japanese men don't have the proceedure done. My wife says that her boyfriends all had a peculiar "smell" because of the collection of bacteria in the foreskin. I had no idea that was a problem and I'm not saying your husband has that problem so please don't misunderstand.

Circumcision in men has been linked to much lower risk of HIV infection: http://www.nbc6.net/health/10527603/detail.html

Again, I'm not saying anything about your personal lives, just objective data.

Perhaps what you're most concerned about is how it will feel. My wife says that I tend to go out further during intercourse than her previous boyfriends. An uncircumcised man receives a kind of stroking sensation from the foreskin resulting in less movement required for stimulation, but without the foreskin the mans glans (head) slowly becomes insensitive because the skin no longer covers it! (Imagine if your clitoris were constantly exposed and rubbing on your underwear!! Without the skin there's no protection for these sensitive structures.)

Ultimately, this will make him move in and out in larger strokes during the act of intercourse. My wife says she prefers less movement because I run into her cervix (-.-;) sorry honey....

I try not to move so much. Abstaining from masturbation will help the man feel more during intercourse. Good luck!

It's no big deal to me. I have been with both, and it never felt any different. I would just be worried about him though, he's gonna be in a LOT of pain for a while when he's healing afterwards, haha. But, seriously, if that's what he wants, he should do it. He will probably feel better, and all around cleaner. (It's way easier for guys to clean themselves when they're circumcised, just because they don't have to deal with extra nooks and crannies, so to speak.) So yeah, I say let him go for it.

I have been with both and can tell you that yes it does feel different, but neither is better or worse. Circumcised is better for oral though. But I would just support him in his decision no matter what he decides. As long as you love each other the sex will always be great!

well to tell you the truth i wouldnt know what it would be like with a non circumcised man. i do know that men that are not circumcised are more prone to germs. are not as clean because of all the skin. and woman are prone to get it from a man. but i can tell you it should not make a difference. look it up on the internet. see for yourself. best luck

Dr. Dean Adell has quite a bit to say on this matter, look him up.

This is a great site for opinion, less effective for actual information. I've read and heard that it really does make a difference and I suggest doing the research before taking such a measure because there is no going back.

You'll both be fine with no problems. Circumcision makes it easier for a man to keep clean.

His stay inside will improve since the nerves will get used to some stimulation after circumcision. And his organ help will be better. So, no problem.

I've been hearing about a lot of adult men getting circumcised recently. It's a new fad I guess. I don't blame them, a circumcised penis is cleaner and better looking.

I don't think its a wierd question. I want to point out, the popular belief that uncircumcised men have more bacteria is false. I suggest, he keep his foreskin. The penis harnessed in the skin is more sensitve then a circumcised penis. All those who think of the hygeine factor for uncircumcised men ARE SOOOOOOOO WRONG!!!!!!!!!! Do your homework!!!!! For the asker. Tell your husband you love it just the way it is!! If you have a strong marriage, he will keep it just the way it is.
