Lot's of ways to count continents.
Are Europe and Asia separate?
Is Australia a continent? Greenland?
North and South America connect.
Africa, Asia, and Europe all connect (Suez Canal is artificial)

The usual answer is 7 continents: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, Antarctica.

earth is 4.6 billion years old , earth is composes of many elements but in the inner core of earth you have heaviest metals mostly iron and nickle, the mantle is just similar material as in crust but being metamorphosed under extreme heat and pressure, the crust is composed of mostly silica and basalt; ocean basins is basalt which is dense and silica for continents due to the lower density. there are seven continents
