Outsiders No More!
What is that? Standing in that box, alone and all afraid,
Is it alive? Is it breathing? The outsider society has made.
What happens if sunshine touches it? Will it melt away?
Will it fall beneath the cracks; please-- there is where it will stay.
I want to reach out and help it but I still don’t know what to say,
“Please come join me in my solitude, this is where you can stay,
I live alone secluded; introverted.” But wait—am I an outsider too?
This question, what is its value? Should it really matter to you?
Why aren’t you part of this circle? You are the link that makes us whole,
But their words and glares are deafening, placing a wall between our souls.
I am the pick and you are the axe, chipping at it we will begin,
We’ll make ourselves a window, on the outside looking in.

Swinging ever slowly, the golden pendulum on the clock,
Time can heal all wounds; breaking down the wall block by block,
All you want is to be accepted, to finally hold some worth,
To feel that warmth within your heart, a smile that you gave birth,
I know that feeling well, with you I can empathize,
The pain of exclusion, it lies within your eyes,
Open up a new chapter in your book, open a new door,
Fore, together we our outsiders, no more!
