Don't love her, don't hate her. These days I just feel really sorry for her.
I feel sorry for her mother more than anything. so many people hate her. She is a mother and no matter how a mother is treated they typically have unconditional love for their children.
I think that Anna wanted to have a relationship with her mother, but Howard turned her against her.
I think more than anything that Anna was a very insecure, used, insecure, and lied to person. It seems that Howard was one of those people that probably encouraged her to stay away from family and friends.
An emotional abuser. He kept her at arms length from anyone who truly loved her so that he could control her every move. I believe that Anna really loved her mother and wanted to reach out to her, but Howard convinced her not too.

It seems that no one did, except MAYBE Birkhead.
So few loved her bec it is not easy to love someone who was so completely self-absorbed and narcissistic. Not to mention drugged-out all the time, barely able to speak or stay on her feet.
