im using linux 7.3 at work (pretty old) and we've decided to change the time no 3/11 and 11/4 manually. i know to change the system and the hardware clock. im confused between clock, adjtimex, etc., and whether i should set UTC to true as a better setting.
simplest one i know is date -ss hh:mm.

can someone tell me the commands you will run to accomplish this?

You shouldn't change the system clock at all. That would be bad, because then its UTC timestamps would all be off. (You ought to set the system time automatically via NTP with ntpdate, anyway.)

No, what you need to do is change the timezone. Try doing an update. Unless that dist is too old, you will hopefully get updated TZ entries. Then you need to run system-config-date.
