my son's 16-yr-old friend travelled to palestine with his family to visit relatives. his dad died and left nothing for his wife and kids. now they are stuck there with no money and can't afford to return. i can't afford to buy the $1500 ticket to get him home, but he's miserable and i want to help

Have they gone to the local American Embassy? If not, tell them to do so. If the embassy cannot help (and I would think they could), they may be able to tell them where to get help.

If that is not help, have them contact their state representatives for the area in the U.S. they live. Keep trying.

Another idea is to contact the newspaper with the largest circulation in the area where they live in the U.S. or even a smaller paper, which might have more interest in such a story. You could also contact TV stations in the area they lived.

The U.S. Embassy will sometimes make loans.

i think they would be able to get a loan to get home, but of course like all loans you would have to pay it back
