Talking with your parents is by far the best option you have. We parents are sometimes blind to how our treatment affects our children. I felt the same way as you do now, when I was a teenager, over thirty years ago. It hasn't been until the last several decades that enough valuable information was available regarding parenting skills. And, what is available today outshines the information that was available in the past. Remember, that children don't come with an owners manual, and, no two children are alike. Sometimes we parents have a tendency to treat all of our children alike, and, believe me, it doesn't work. Discuss the situation and your feelings with your parents. And, some issues may be best expressed with your mother, alone. Some things may be better approached with Dad. You will have to use your better judgment. Most importantly, be ready to forgive. They may be having just as much of a problem being parents, as you are, being a young lady. If you find it necessary, seek out competent counseling.
Good luck, and God Bless.

I know how it feels....my mother seems to value my older brother more than me. But, I never really knew why; but then I figured out why. My older brother needs more support because he is not doing very well with his life and I am doing extremely well. Your parents probably think that you are very mature! If you feel that you are being ignored, I would talk with them before you blow up at them. It reallllly sucks, but try talking with them so that they know what you need emotionally. Good luck!

Hey i think you should defiantly talk to them. Dont let them get out of ur life u def. need them just cause ur sister gets everything doesnt mean they dont love you. Just tell them you feel like you dont exist to them and really let your feelings out. It always helps me!

If you dont speak your mind they will never know what you are feeling. Talk to them it wont hurt, they are your parents and they love you. You just see the attention your sister gets cause you are different then her. and you both need different kinds of attention. talk to them,

Maybe you should start counseling. Getting your feelings out will help. You REALLY need to talk to them about this and don't deny it.

Tell them how you feel! Also have you gotten a good grade in school, show them your accomplishments. It helps to be emotional when you're telling them...
