Before 911, Gulliani was just another mayor of a large city whose political reactions and actions regarding rather questionable issues remained controversial. Then came 911, and all of a sudden people began to paint a pciture of this man as though he and he alone solved all of the post-911 woes. But I remain convinced that ANY mayor under those circumstances, would have handled what happened that day as good as if not BETTER than Guilliani did, He uttered the right words; he expressed the feelings of himself and the city, and he also assured the men and women who were workng and continued to work at Ground Zero that they were "safe" and that the "air was fine", which of course, turned out to be completely untrue.(anyone in their right mind had to have known that the air quality at and near Ground Zero was questionable).
...I guess people forget. They forgot his pre-911 decisions. But again, any other mayor would have handled things just as well if not better than Guilliani did.

For the few of you who read the details incorrectly, I said any mayor "of a large city", I also said "any mayor under those circumstances".. New Orleans population pre-Katrina was less than 500,000. The population of New York City was about 8,220,00 at the time of 911.
Again I was speaking of large cities. Not small ones where even their court system is rather archaic/antebellum.

he may have been a decent mayor, but that is a far leap from the president. I will not vote for him.

You mean any Mayor of a major city would handle a crisis of epic proportions as well as Rudy Giuliani did in the aftermath of 9/11. Kinda makes all those arguments about how the federal government failed seem like they are a mute point given how well you think the Democratic Mayor handled Katrina. Oh wait...Mayor Ray Nagin was in Houston when the levies broke wasn't he...why wasn't he with his people? I guess this is what happens when a liberal wants everyone else except themselves to take care of their problems.

Yeah, I'd vote for Rudy.
He rose to the occasion and provided much-needed leadership during 9-11 for New York. He restored confidence and boosted morale, and "lead from the front" during the emergency.
His actions prior to 9-11 were controversial, but effective. Personallly, I don't care about his abortion stance nor do I correlate his personal life with his ability in public life.
As for your comment of "ANY mayor under those circumstances, would have handled what happend that day as good"....I can disprove that statement with one word: Nagin.

No because the in reality reliable issue he did became after the incident of 9/11 yet up until eventually then he became corrupt and a sleaze bag. He tells his spouse about divorce in a press convention (family members values). He had outfitted the lengthy island Command middle contained in the dual Towers in spite of assorted objections from first responders. because he were given huge campaign funds from the owner, subsequently various first responders lost their lives. Had the command middle been in Brooklyn as stated by technique of first responders issues could were a lot more suitable positive. Took more suitable income campaign funds and gave a no bid settlement to Motorola, the radio's had significant issues for the duration of 9/11 and also at the moment for all the different cities that he pimped those radios to. On 9/11 he became heading in route of the Command middle now to not the crash web site as stated by technique of him himself in his e book, and extremely last that I checked the dual Towers are nonetheless no longer up. He became large at 9/11 yet what made him large wasn't his presence yet George Bush's absence.

I will not. He is not a conservative. If he gets the nod, he will put blue states in play, but will lose some red states. He may even open the door for another Perot

As a moderate he's almost exactly what I want. He says he's a fiscal conservative, I like that. He's pro-choice, I like that. He is pro-gay rights, I like that. I don't like his comment on his nominees for a Supreme Court. I find it strange he married his cousin. It's too soon to tell though. I'm hoping for some other runners.

No way. Giuliani is pro homosexual, pro abortion and anti gun. We have enough of these people in government now.
I say it's time we elected some real Americans to office.
