What does that mean, "in charge"?

I thought the American people were in charge. In a democracy, it is gov't BY THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

And since Republicans lost their majority power because of the will of the people, they best listen better, or find themselves a party of the past.

If conservatives did everything better, wouldn't they always be in charge? The pendulum swings both ways, when one side becomes to extreme, the other side tends to moderate and win control, then they become extreme and it swings back.

Liberals are not in charge because they are outnumbered by uneducated, ignorant, xenophobic, close-minded and biggoted rednecks. Its a sad state of affaires indeed!
