I was walking home one evening and took a short cut down an alleyway. I could hear a whimpering sound and came across a woman lying in a pool of blood. I rang the police and ambulance and made her as comfortable as I could.
It transpired that her boyfriend had stabbed her several times. She survived, and he went to prison for a long time.
A letter from her was passed to me by the police, thanking me for saving her life. I replied. We started to correspond, and then she said she'd like to meet me. I agreed.
The biggest mistake of my life. I had become her "Knight in Shining Armour" and she professed undying love for me. I pointed out that I was married. She turned nasty. It got so bad that my wife started to dount which one of us was telling the truth, because she had found out so much about me and was telling everyone we were lovers
Three years later, she went to prison for breaching an order preventing her from harassing me. Whilst she was in prison, my family and I left the area to start again in a different part of the country. Two years on and she hasn't found me yet.

YES. I met a guy at a Halloween party, had an intensely awkward conversation, and finally gave him my number in hopes he'd go away and forget about it. I've gotten so many phone calls from him that i've lost count, despite not having answered a single one. It's a bit scary, yes.

I used to be acquainted with a woman who treated every conversation as a cue to buy me a present. I found this so oppressive and embarrassing that I finally had to be unpleasant to make it stop. Now when we find ourselves in the same social gathering, I am pleased to report there is no apparent animosity.

yes, since my husband died, a few men have paid attention to me. I loved my husband very much, but have absolutely no desire to go through the ups and downs of intimacy with a man (they're worse to housebreak than a Great Dane). I was kind and talked a lot about the new man in my life, my darling grandson. Happy me, they got the message.

Yes, from a guy I went out on one disasterous date with. I just sort of left it at that but he kept ringing me at work because that's the only way he knew how to contact me. You know it's time to run when you have to get your boss to tell him to do one!

Maybe way back. You learn to deal with it. That's why I don't understand the craving for fame. Privacy is a beautiful thing to have if you don't lose it. Low profile is best.

Yes. I was stalked by this guy at work. It was so creepy. He always tried to bring me lunch and stuff. I told him I was married. I wasn't at the time.
