No.
I believe in unconditional free speech. That includes offensive words, unpopular thoughts, etc.
Besides, to me, its not the words that matter, its the intent behind them.
If someone says "I frikin hate you" and someone else says "I f*ckin hate you". Whats the difference? The hate is still there.
Its not the words we should be fighting, its the awful feelings people have towards others. Banning certain words is useless if the hatred behind those words is still there.

NO I do not. Only liberal asshat retards could support any further incursions on our rights to free speech. Today it's the "N" word. Tomorrow it will be the "G" word or the "C" word and the day after that protesting the cause de-jour will result in fines of confinement. Sometimes we need to tolerate ****** behavior and learn to grow a thicker skin and not be hyper-sensitive to the rantings of idiots. What is acceptable to you today may be seen as offensive to others and criminalized tomorrow if you allow the PC police to legislate morality and good behavior.
Your choice. Live with it.
I suspect if uttering the word "cracker" or "honkey" were made to be a criminal act, the NY supreme court would defend it. Go ahead, provide all the evidence you can find to prove me wrong.

In this country (USA) we have the right to say anything. That doesn't mean hateful, hurtful or obscene words are right, but they are legal to say in public.
(The exception now being that we can't joke about hijacking airplanes and such while we're travelling. Not an unreasonable restriction considering recent history.)
As for the "N" word, when I was a child my mother said she would wash my mouth out with soap if she heard me say it. She said it's a rude word that hurts people's feeling and makes them angry. So I still don't say it. But if we're going to make it illegal we should also outlaw all other offesive words. Just think how quickly that could spiral out of control!
Who is to decide which words are or are not offensive? Why is it OK to say "dog" but not "b-tch"? Why it Ok to call me white, but "black" is now unacceptable and instead you have to say African-American? When do we start banning words like "darn" or "rats" or "poo"? It could all get pretty ridiculous.

Nope. I don't like when politicians use it or say something racist, sexist, "gayist" (I know it's not a word), etc and then apologize later. What about free speech. I actually appreciate their honesty. If they feel that way let them say it, apologizing for it does not change how they feel. If someone wants to say the N word, let them. If they get punched in the mouth or nothing happens at all, so be it. I think people should be able to say what they feel.
Of course they shouldn't just say anything around children though.

I think it is racist to think anyone other than an "african american" can say the word. I think we put too much to this word. It has been a topic for years now. by making it against the law is stupid and only a waist of money and time. will a black man be fined 100$ for talking with a friend? no. so how could any one fairly and consistantly punish for this. its hogwash!!

I read in my country's paper "Sydney Australia" that New York City has passed a law or is going to pass a law stating that the use of the word ****** is to become an offense and so it should be.

I observed the internet website. My thinking is that maybe whether it particularly is used not as an epithet yet in some different way it particularly is a probability that the fringe of the interest must be lessened. we tend to grant slurs too a lot potential over us. If the interest is meant to insult somebody, and that they have been insulted it has complete it particularly is meant use. i in my view are not getting indignant by alot of issues anymore. i assume it relies upon on what you think of of the guy who's attempting to offend. in case you do not understand them or do unlike them what does it matter what they say? I frequently carry no regard for them or their critiques. it particularly is stressful to do on occasion, yet finally in case you sometimes have a sequence off for somebody else to pull you will in no way win. you will consistently be aggravated. it particularly is not any thank you to stay.

No, not exactly.
Because Some people grew up around people who used the N word.
I think a fine would be TOO EXTREME.
also, parents should teach their kids not to say that word at all.
it would make the world BETTER
:]

No, not a fine - because that money won't go to the offended person . What there should be is an automatic slap or buttkicking given to the person who calls a black person that word to their face.
