-Performance
-Luxury
-Value

Performance:

The Infiniti G35. It has more power and rear wheel drive. It makes it more sporty and a lot faster than the TL-S.

Luxury:

The Acura TL-S has better quality materials than the Infiniti G35. The leather seats are more expensive and durable, as are all of the interior parts.

Value:

Honda Motor Co. is known for it's low depreciation value, including Acuras. If you want to buy a car that you will get your money out of, then the TL-S is the right car.

The Acura TL-S is a car for someone who is into performance vehicles, but is more for the person who wants luxury with power. The Infiniti G35 is a car for someone who wants their car to be a performance car all the way. The typical G35 buyer isn't as interested in luxury as much as they are performance. To sum it up, luxury = Acura, performance = Infiniti.

I must admit I've not driven both of them, because there is no Infiniti dealer near my home. But I have done extensive research on both, and own a TL. I've also driven the Type S.

The interior of a TL is hard to beat in this price range. It is bristling with awesome technology including bluetooth, voice commands, navigation (one of the best out there). It has about 30 more horsepower than a regular TL and better suspension and brakes.

I agree with the other review, I think the Infiniti is supposed to handle a little better (being rear wheel drive) and has more power. The TL has more toys and a little more luxury to it. Although honestly I think the Infiniti looks a little nicer.

I doubt you would go far wrong with either vehicle, both are good value, both have luxury features, and both are going to impress most drivers with their performance.

To me these vehicles are so close, you are just going to have to drive them both and feel what seems right to you. I doubt either would disappoint.

If you are willing to lose some of the technology, you might want to look at a similarly priced BMW 335i. It's going to be very fast and out perform both vehicles in the handling department. I also think it looks better, and is such a blast to drive.

Performance - TL < G35
Luxury - TL = G35
Value - TL > G35

The only reason on the performance is due to the FWD TL. If it were RWD or AWD then TL>G35 ;)

I own an 06 TL and have driven both. I'm fully aware of the TL-S mods. Given the boost in HP the TL-S is going to be just about the same in power, but the FWD is still going to be an issue because of the torque steer. The more power you put in the car, the worse the torque steer is going to get too. The only fix is to put power to more wheels, which is comming in the next iteration of the TL.

-Performance

The Infiniti has better steering feel and also has rear-wheel drive. The redesign of the TL in 2009 (?) will probably get SH-AWD. But for now, the Infiniti has better performance

-Luxury

The plastics on the bottom sections of the doors in the TL Type-S don't match the G35's. in terms of feel and quality. The TL has fake carbon-fiber trim, whereas the G35 has "washi" style aluminum which looks like rice paper. In terms of ergonomics, I love Acura. Everything is easy to use. The TL is bigger inside, and it definitely shows.

-Value

Honda > Infiniti

TL-S is the sports version of TL, specially tuned for performance.
TL has better quality like all acuras and retains value like a honda
