I love the colors. It has a resort-y feel, and I'm not sure if it's too casual for my senior prom. Maybe with beautiful shoes (I'm thinking metallics-bronze or gold- and a really high heel...either strappy or peep-toe) and/or jewelry, I can dress it up enough...? What do you think?

I know it's short, but I'm pretty sure that I'm wearing a short dress to prom no matter what. It's unique, and I don't want to look like every other girl. Plus, I'm 5' 3", and a shorter dress would give me the illusion of having longer legs. I was thinking about one with a bubble skirt and a cinched-in waist, but they ran out of my size :(
I DON'T want a dress that's gaudy and tacky:

or boring:

You can't really tell from the picture, but it's 100% silk, which might make it look more formal in person. I don't think it's a dress you would wear to the beach...maybe around a nice resort (the Ritz, Four Seasons, etc.)

I LOVE the dress, but you're right. It definitely does have a resort type of feel to it, and that itself is not formal enough. Prom is the most important dance of all dances. Everyone knows this. Especially for Juniors and Seniors(at least in California, cause only Jrs. &Srs. can go to Prom) but anyway...
I saw that the Milly dress was about $350.00.
If you're willing to pay THAT much for that dress, you should seriously check out these sites:
http://www.tiza.com/
http://www.jovaniprom.com/index.php
You can try to accessorize, but no matter what you do, you're not going to change or help the fact that the Milly dress has a resort-feel print. Its print/fabric is a dead-giveaway that it's for a more casual/outdoor occasion.
I hope you'll find something you like from one of those sites.
They have beautiful dresses, and some of the dresses even have a resort-feel but a more glamorized resort version.

Personally, for that price, you could have a more formal dress.. If you really want the casual look, go for it, after all, its your prom, but for 350, just for the dress, I would think it'd be a bit fancier of a dress.. Go with your personality, though. The perfect dress for some will not be on others. Choose a dress that brings out your own sophistacation, not try to fit the dress. Its about feeling beautiful. And when the ladies feelo beautiful they look it as well. Personally, I always was a die hard tom boy. So, I naturally wore a tux to my Senior prom. I had worn a gown my jr year and was uncomfy all night. My snr year prom was great!
\As for the dress, it is beautiful I like the blends and the way the fabric lays. I would tho, if I were u, keep an open mind, and check out a few more formall, just to get a good idea of the variety before purchasing.
Have fun!!!

I think its a beautiful dress but maybe a little too simple for prom, maybe good for a wedding or summer party..unless you can really spice it up with heels and accessories.

I think it is a georgeous dress and with some nice strappy shoes and jewellery it will be perfect. Remember you need to feel comfortable and it is better to think yo are under-dressed than over-dressed.
