I don't know how many agree but i hate the thumbs down brigade ! Do you think YaHoo should make it that only the asker should thumb down or rid it altogether ? Hey just my opinion and just a question .. I'm bored and i don't let it get to me i just think it's an easy target for those with no sense of humour . Not everybody agrees and in my eyes at the end of the day it's the askers opinion that counts !! !

Most of you have some ideas to add to mine and to aqquaiserjen .. if you actually read my question i said that it doesn't bother me but i agree with you in part . Saying that at the end of the day most of the people agree that it should be up to the asker . I also think it should be upto the asker as Enya said to report abuse as it is their question ...

I'd also like to add that if they can't remove it then the asker should be able to allow or dis-allow thumbs within their question !

That's a good suggestion that the Asker decides what reply is a thumbs up or down. I also think only the Asker should be able to report abuse. That way it would make it very clear who is reporting who and why.

I do agree, in the end it's the asker's opinion that counts.
However, your perception of what's funny may not be the same as mine, or others on here.
Sometimes the people who answer do that in an offensive way, not just to the one who asked the question, but also to the others who are interested in the answers to that question.
Most of the time the ones who reply just express their opinion...that may not be MY opinion, but hey, that doesn't make it a bad answer, far from it, we just differ from opinion, no problem at all.
But if an answer is obviously meant to offend people, then I'd like to keep the right to give it a thumbs down. (I never ever give a thumbs down to other replies)
What does get to me is when someone, or some people, feel the need to thumb down everything they see, (even if it's the correct answer to a specific question) apparently just for the "fun" of it.

If there are some mindless people out there who think it's their duty to abuse someone by giving them a thumbs down, just rejoice at the fact they're not out and about being violent towards other people in a physical way.
They've found a place to survive, undetected, perhaps with their bit of 'moonshine', that does not involve hospitalisation, morning after pills, or even death to the people they beat up.

I like the thumbs-up & thumbs-down. I think they need to allow the answerers to give thumbs-up & down to stupid or inappropriate questions.

Why does it bug you.... everybody has an opinion, and the thumbs up or down only helps others to voice their opinion of answers they read..... as my mom says "opinions are like a**holes, and everyone has one" Don't take it to heart......

I agree with you. After all we are all grown ups on here aren't we. Do we really need people, being nosey, and telling tales? If people get upset about the content on here sometimes, then don't play the game?

drives me daft too, people giving them for no reason, if im honest i have give some very good advice,even using things from sites and i get a thumbs down for all my effort.....i think people do it for kicks.
seems they have nothing better to do............sits and waits for the thumbs down (sticks tongue out*) see its SMILIES we need
