It's an old Compaq Presario 5838. It still runs Windows 95. It's not turning on however. I think it's a power supply problem. How much could I get for it as-is and how much could I get for it if I fixed it?

It's just the box and the stuff inside it, not the monitor or speakers or anything.

Could I get at least $80 for it?

Windows 95 - Next to nothing
Compaq - Next to nothing
Not working - Nothing

pretty much - I don't want to be mean but realistically this system is worth almost nothing. I would consider donating it to charity where it could be sent to countries in poverty.

To get it fixed however shouldn't be very costly.

I'd say less than $20 and only to someone who would use it as a file or email server, or an extra Linux server.

It's basically worthless.

Even if you fixed it, you'd spend more on the power supply than you'd get back by selling it.

If I were you, I'd reformat the hard drive, install Win98 or 2000 (possible with RAM upgrade), and use it as a print server, email and file server, or just as extra storage on the network.

maybe you can sell the case, and the power supply if it still works, but if you recieve 10 dlls you can be happy, the motherboard, the processor, the memory are totally useless, also the hard drive must be 4 gb or less, i think too much less... so, if somehow it would work fine it's still useless
