Adding the dimensions = 716.6 feet (perimeter).
Divide 716.6 by 4 = 178.4 feet per side
178.4 x 178.4 = 31826.56 square feet
31826.56 / 43560 = .7303 acres

Note: An acre (43560 ft^2) = a square with sides measuring 208.7103256 feet per side

Make an exact scale plan of the plot, and work out the area. An acre is an area of 22 yards by 220 yards, that's 4840 square yards, (4840yds²). A lot depends on the angles at the corners. Is it closer to a rectangle or a kite?

It depends on the angles between the lines. A good rough estimate based on the numbers you've given, would put it at approximately 2/3 of an acre.

Without precise angles it is impossible to be too precise. The square footage could range somewhere between 28,600 sf and 29,400 based on the lengths of the sides given. That puts it between 0.656 acre and 0.674 acre, or roughly 2/3 of an acre (1 acre = 43,560 sf).

Bubba , check my work I might be wrong.

We got a irregular size I used 120' as the longest width, and 166' as the shortest width.

Length of the shortest side 181.6'. Length of longest side 246'.

I come up with 41041.6 sq. ft., I always used a acre a 220'x 220' which is 44000 sq. ft. 41041.6 divide by 44000=.932776.

which is slitely less than a acre.

1 acre is 43560 square feet.

In your case it is an irregular shape and you have no angles given to assist with calculating square footage. It is clearly less than 1 acre, likely on the order of 2/3 to 3/4 of an acre.

Little extra info just for fun...

Acre - area of land one chain (four rods) in width by one furlong in length. As the traditional furlong could vary in length from country to country, so did the acre. In England an acre was 4,840 square yards, in Scotland 6,150 square yards and in Ireland 7,840 square yards. It is a Saxon unit, meaning field. Probably meant to be "as much area as could be plowed in one day".

chain - four linear rods. Named after the length of surveyor's chain used to measure distances until quite recently. Any of several actual chains used for land surveying and divided in links. Gunter's chain, introduced in the 17th century, is 66 feet.

furlong - "One plough's furrow long" (Saxon furrow is furh), the distance a plough team could be driven without rest. This varied from region to region depending on soil type and local habit. In modern context, it is deemed to be 660 feet, 40 rods or ten chains.

In other words, one acre is 66 x 660 feet

My best guess is .67 of an acre. If you would square your longest sides it would be short of being an acre.

Well, I have a rectangular lat, 150 feet by 300 feet, and it's 1,25 acres. Figure out the square feet of mine & yours & compare.
